Teaching Toddler to Spread Peanut Butter

My two year old son found his knife in the silverware drawer today.  Them he asked to have a peanut butter sandwich. I asked him if he wanted to make it himself, he said yes. So I got out his Mickey Mouse plate, cut a slice of bread in half (because is knife is only good for spreading), and put the food on the plate.  I got the peanut butter from the jar and put it in one of Mickey's ears and put the bread in the big part of the plate.  I gave him his knife.

How I Increased My Breastmilk Supply

You can read about my struggles to breastfeed if you like or the reasons I chose to breastfeed, but this post right here is about how I addressed diminishing supply while exclusive pumping.

I Can't Breastfeed! (Yes you can!), Nipple Confusion Myth, andExclusive Pumping, Etc.

As I said in the last post, if nursing your baby is too stressful, it is ok to give the baby formula. Just don't read that part of the can. I gave the reasons that I enjoyed breast feeding my baby, but I did have a struggle. (And it lasted for three months, but I had quite a but of support.)

Doing Laundry With My Toddler (like how he helps) and Montessori Color Boxes

When I have laundry to do, my two year can actually be so helpful. He loves to throw things into the washing machine. When things are done washing, I take them out of the washing machine and he puts them into the dryer which is great because he and the dryer door are low to the ground. Then, he takes the clothes out of the dryer and puts them into the laundry basket. Then I take them and fold them.

How to Become a Doula

I am always looking for a new hustle, but it has to be something that I would truly enjoy doing. I have to feel that it is a purposeful activity and what is more purposeful than helping someone? So I am considering becoming a postpartum doula. I remember how much help I needed after my son was born and I was so blessed to have my mother, but what about people who don't? That is where a postpartum doula comes in. It seems like a wonderful summer job!

I am also considering being a birth doula. I was blessed enough to have my sister and a great friend helping me through my son's birth, but again, what about those who are not as fortunate?

There are certificate programs for both birth doulas and postpartum doulas. I have chosen to review the DONA International Program, but CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) also has a program which has additional certification and training options. (While I don't think you need any certification, the training could prove beneficial in the long run.)

Top 12 Reasons I Decided to Breastfeed

Picky Toddler Loves to Eat Chick-Fil-A Copycat Recipe

Earlier today I posted a Chick-Fil-A Copycat recipe. I modified Thai recipe to make it healthier and my toddler loved it. I could only thank God because it has been quite a while since my baby has wanted to eat anything that I cooked, especially meat. But this came out tender so he liked it.
