I wanted Chinese food today so I made Hot and Tangy Beef from AllRecipes over brown rice.
The wonderful thing about cooking at home is that you can substitute ingredients. Today I used brown sugar instead of white. (I have also used honey.) I used a low sodium soy sauce, olive oil instead of vegetable oil, and whole wheat flour instead of cornstarch. (I have also used okra instead of broccoli and completely omitted the thickener.) You can also choose to omit the rice if you are doing low carb or no grains.
My toddler liked it, too!
