6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

I think Psalms 8 is so powerful. It starts telling us that God is glorious, powerful and mighty--that he is more powerful than any enemy. Then it contrasts us with God, exposing our true insignificance. Only once it humbles man, it builds us back up by describing the power that God bestowed on us--a power that we have only through His grace. Without him, we don't have it. But as insignificant creatures, we MUST praise him.

I feel like this scripture truly puts all of life into perspective. It really quantifies our own insignificance and explains with expert precision why we must praise Him. You cannot help but marvel at all creation and be humbled when you think that we, as minute beings, have been given dominion over anything. How can you feel anything less than grateful as you read this? How can you want to do anything other than worship God in all you do? I cannot. I have to try harder to worship my Lord in all I do! For he has already done so much for me. I must remember that what He has done for me, He has done for all His children. No one is insignificant and without power. He has given it to all of us as we are in His image. And notice that we don't have dominion over each other... Hmmm!
