What On Earth Is a Burpee? (And how to do one beginner to advanced)

I keep coming across these HIIT training things and all of them talking about burpees. But I had no idea what a Burpee was! It is really something at I couldn't describe. According to Fitness Boot Camps UK, burpees work your pectorals, triceps, biceps, deltoids, rectus abdominis, gluteus maximus, quadriceps, calves and hamstrings. I mean if you can do one of theses, you can get it in!

So, in this post, I will be addressing three things:
What is a Burpee?
How do do a proper Burpee
How to do begin with burpees
How to advance with burpees

What is a Burpee?

How to do a proper Burpee
Form is important when completing any exercise and since this one is typically done quickly, it is very important to work on them slowly to get your form correct first. I want you to go back and look at the crouching step in both of the above images: the older image and the infographic. Notice that the man in the older image has wider feet and his heads are between them. This will help you keep your back straight better and prevent back strain. According to Nick Tumminello's Performance University, 10 burpees make a good full body warm-up. He further recommends doing no more than 20 burpees in a set because after that people typically lose proper form.

So I can't do a Burpee right now, but how do I begin?
According to Fitness Boot Camps UK, you can use squats and squat thrusts or you can do this modified version:
